For the first time since 2016, Temple’s Engineers Without Borders chapter will host the Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware Regional Engineers Without Borders Conference at the College of Engineering.
The conference will be held on November 16 from 9 AM to 3 PM featuring keynote speakers, breakout sessions, panels, and poster presentations from various EWB chapters.
EWB anticipates 75-100 attendees including students, faculty, and professionals across the Northeast region. They have extended invitations to the University of Pennsylvania, University of Delaware, Lehigh University, Lafayette College and many others.
Learning from their experience of hosting the First Annual Temple EWB Gala this past March, the group began planning for the conference during the summer break, brainstorming the overarching theme and potential guest speakers. Wanting to focus on relevant topics to the region and the unique relationship between EWB, local projects, and international projects, the group elected to focus their two panel sessions on community gardens and global water sustainability.
The panels and keynote speakers will feature alumni, current students, and representatives from the Philadelphia Water Department, Gannett Fleming and American Council of Engineering Companies. Additionally, other EWB chapters will present their project posters, showcasing the variety of projects led by local students.
The conference is open to anyone with a passion for water and environmental issues or is looking for ways to give back to communities.
The deadline to register is November 4, 2024. Register on the conference website here: https://www.eventcreate.com/e/northeastern-temple-ewb-conference
