Though our college was established in 1970, our history echoes back to when Russell Conwell founded Temple University in 1884. Through humble beginnings as a night school, Temple University has grown to become one of the nation’s most comprehensive, diverse learning and research environments.

None of this growth and transformation would be possible without our more than 11,000 dedicated, engaged alumni. The difference our students make is inspired by those who came before them.

To celebrate the college's 50th anniversary year Spectra/um is a special publication celebrating our first five decades, and Continu/um, the digital experience looking to the next 50 years, and celebrating 50 great engineering alumni and faculty who are making that future a reality.
