The College of Engineering is pleased to announce Favour Olugbenga as the 2024 Commencement student speaker. 

Olugbenga is a passionate student, majoring in Bioengineering. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she has demonstrated a fervent commitment to leveraging technology to revolutionize healthcare. 

During her time at Temple University, Olugbenga has excelled in cellular-track coursework and led impactful projects, including the development of a cost-efficient compact materials tester and optimization of a hydrogel wound dressing.  

She credits her internships at Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania for providing valuable hands-on experience, further enhancing her academic and professional profile. 

Beyond academics, Olugbenga has been an active member of the Temple University community, serving as a student dispatch worker at the Temple University Health Science Campus for three years. She has also held executive board member roles in the Organization of African Students and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).  

Additionally, she was crowned Ms. Temple Africa 2022, leading initiatives to provide school supplies and computers to children of the Kanzi Kibera organization in Nairobi, Kenya, and raising thousands of dollars for the non-profit organization, Yume Africa. 

Through her active participation in the community, Olugbenga has cultivated a desire to make a difference in others' lives.  

Her post-graduate aspirations include pursuing personalized medicine, with plans to continue her education through Temple University's +1 Program, where she will pursue a Master of Science in Bioengineering. Olugbenga aims to embody Temple's motto of "Perseverance Conquers" as she ventures into healthcare, striving to positively impact the world around her.
