After obtaining his BS in Electrical Engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke (QC, Canada) in 1988, Dr. Lemay pursued an MS and PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH). After post-doctoral stints at M.I.T. and Case, Dr. Lemay joined the faculty in the Dept of Neurobiology and Anatomy at Drexel University College of Medicine where he rose to the rank of Full Professor. He joined the newly formed department of Bioengineering at Temple University in 2014 where he taught and conducted research until his retirement in 2024. Dr. Lemay’s research group focused on understanding the functioning and contribution of the spinal circuitry to the control of locomotion, and how this circuitry can be re-engaged for rehabilitation purposes following injury. He still has active collaborations with colleagues at the Medical School and College of Public Health.
