Temple Robotics placed 27th of 45 schools in the 2017 NASA Robotics Mining Competition in May at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The team's scored of 48.1833 was fueled by strong performances in the presentation and outreach.

Faculty advisor Dr. John Helferty was pleased with the team's performance, considering this was a younger team and not a Senior Design project, as it has been in previous years. He believes this continuity will help the team's efforts in the future.
