Industrial and Systems Engineering Major

Learn to analyze today's complex, data-driven systems and make an impact in virtually any industry. The only degree of its kind in the Philadelphia region, the ISE major combines the engineering foundations with practical applications and (experiential) learning outside the classroom.

Temple Industrial & Systems Engineers blend their engineering skill set with business coursework so that they are prepared to make an immediate impact. Solve industry challenges in and out of the classroom by learning state-of-the-art tools to integrate digital technologies and participating in projects and hands-on learning.

Our ISE program equips our future engineers with the following:

  • Foundational skills and knowledge to analyze existing systems to support infomred decision making.
  • Domain Specific knowledge to understand virually any system. Although, special focus is given to manufacturing systems, our future engineers will be trained to extrapolate the same principles to understand service industry systems including but not limited to healthcare, retail and E-commerce, banking and finance, and shipping and logistics.
  • Learning to integrate the foundational analytical skills and the domain specific knowledge to design, develop, and implement new solutions in any industry to wrok efficiently, and to satisfy customers.
  • Foundational and advance knowledge in ISE to prepare students who seeks gradute degrees in the future.

Everything around us are nothing but systems and companies continuously seek to design and build new systems or to improve existing ones. Our ISE program will prepare you with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to do so. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a continuous increase in jobs for industrial engineers in the future.
