Temple University's College of Engineering offers an exciting, one-week summer program for female high school students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year. Events are designed to foster interest in the engineering profession and to increase awareness of state of the art research in the field of Bioengineering, Civil, Environmental, Electrical and Mechanical engineering. The 2016 program featured:
- Hands on projects in robotics, bioengineering, environmental engineering, civil & mechanical engineering
- Field trip to NASA
- Interact with professional female engineers
Field trips and interaction with professional engineers will give you an opportunity to experience the importance of engineering and to be motivated by interacting with the different disciplines. Field trips in the past have included visit to NASA, Philadelphia Water Works, Turner construction, L3 communications.
Dr. Alex Pillapakkam is the lead professor working with WE2 and has run the program for more than 5 years.

Experiencing campus life is an important part of this program. Upon arriving, you'll receive a dining card for access to student dining. This program is a great opportunity to meet and interact with people from diverse backgrounds and interests.

Female high school students (except freshmen), GPA 3.0 or higher on a scale of 4.0. You do not have to be a citizen to apply for the WE2 program. However, since we will be going on a field trip to NASA, we are required to provide this information to NASA ahead of time. A birth certificate or passport is needed.
