Commencement is a time where the College of Engineering celebrates your achievements in completing the required coursework for your degree. These are a few of the awards granted for excellence at the ceremony:

  • Top Honors in each major
  • Senior Design winners
  • John L. Rumpf Award - Named for the founding dean of the College of Engineering, this award is given to a graduating senior who has demonstrated an outstanding understanding of the concepts of engineering, a strong development of character and ethical behavior, and the greatest potential for success in the profession of engineering.
  • Theodore P. Vassallo Award - Given to a graduating senior who has made outstanding contributions in service to the College of Engineering. The award is named for the founding associate dean, who was an advocate for community outreach and student service. 

The Spring 2021 ceremony will be held on Friday, May 7 at 9:30 AM at the Temple Sports Complex, located at 1300 Master St., Philadelphia. Graduates from the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 are welcome to participate. Be sure to check your email for your registration link. Deadline to register for the event is April 16th.
