That rate has increased by 50% over the last 30 years.  The overuse of such resources such as water, oil, and forests can have a dramatic effect on our society not only environmentally but economically as well. Other forms of energy must be used in order to protect these vital resources.

    Increasing Solar Cell Efficiency

    Solar energy has been a very promising resource that has been discussed greatly over the past few decades.  As of now, efficiency however has been low and many people have been avoiding the use of it. Our project focuses on implementing synthetic melanin which possess photovoltaic characteristics which will allow for a more efficient solar cell. Adding a substance which can absorb energy from the UV light range will potentially add an increased efficiency for each cell.
