Development of Spectroscopic Methods for Assessment of Plant Composition

Exposure of plants to toxic contaminants may affect plant growth and biomass digestibility. We are developing spectroscopic fiber optic and imaging methods for rapid and non-destructive determination of the effects of such contaminants on plant composition, with a focus on the lignocellulosic feedstock plant, Switchgrass.
