Tissue Imaging & Spectroscopy Laboratory

The main design of the Imaging & Spectroscopy Laboratory is the study of tissue at a molecular, cellular, and structural level and the application of that research into a collaborative effort.

The Tissue Imaging & Spectroscopy lab focuses on assessment of tissues at the molecular, cellular, and structural level through application of state-of-the-art vibrational spectroscopy, including mid- and near-infrared spectroscopy and spectroscopic imaging, in concert with complementary techniques. We develop imaging methods for clinical assessment of cartilage, meniscus and ligament, and for evaluation of developing engineered tissues.  In addition, we're interested in the effect of biological interventions, such as anti-resorptive agents, on bone quality and mechanical properties.
