CMT student, Sean Webster, wins 2nd place in the Innovative Idea Competition.

The College of Engineering congratulates Sean Webster, an undergraduate student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Sean received the 2nd place undergraduate student award in the Fox School of Business and Management's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute's 17th annual Innovative Idea Competition. Sean presented his idea "Bouyant Pile" that addresses a more efficient way to counter act the action of settling in large structures by exploiting resistive forces. He developed the idea due to his experiences growing up in the British Virgin Islands where poor soil conditions have led to problematic settling.

Sean will be graduating this December with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management Technology. He ultimately plans to start his own architectural firm.
