In further demonstration of why a career in engineering pays, the College of Engineering students met with recruiters October 13th for the largest career fair in the college's history. The buzz of activity that often fills the College slid west on campus to the Howard Gittis Student Center, as over 300 eager applicants shook hands and talked experience about summer internships and first jobs after college with representative companies such as SEPTA, DuPuy Synthes, Lutron and many other reputable companies.

Undergraduate and graduate students put on their professional best, edited their resumes, and stood in line to introduce themselves to companies big and small in various fields. Engineering experience is in high demand across the economy and students have a breadth of opportunities available to them that may not exist in other majors.

Companies recruit Temple students at these events because the school produces quality workers. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has a strong track record with Temple hires, noted recruiter Cheryl Babiarz. "Academically, they have enthusiasm, they're well rounded students, they interview well,"she said over the lively din. This year's event saw the employers grow to more than 75, from the 51 recruiters in 2015.
